I have a question on Arroya please — do you read the chart line 2 from left to right, or right to left. I understand 1, 3, 5 all odd rows are purl. Since 1 would normally be right to left, want to confirm to read 2, 4, etc from left to right. Also, where do the shaping rows come into play? If cast on, purl one row, then work lace chart to row 34, then do row 1 and 2 of setting up shaping, then short row shaping of row 3 repeating to ends of shawl (how many rows approximately?). thanks much.
