I really like this shawl. It would be fabulous to see more pics of it being worn. So many of these are knit in fingering. I’d like to see this wrapped in different ways. Interested in posting more pics?

I have a question about the short row directions. On Row three where you instruct ” knit to last stitch before turn, k2 tog”…which turn are you referring to? The one in row one or row two?
This is a lovely pattern and I worked thru the lace only to be stopped cold by the short rows. Thanks for this great pattern. I tried it on made up and it hangs beautifully.

Bonjour,

So for those of you like me who were totally confused about how to do the short rows, I think I figured it out! (DISCLAIMER: I have yet to cast on, let alone test my theory)
Basically you after you knit the first 125 stitches you start a series of zig-zaging short rows with the current row having 3 more stiches than the preceding row
For example, if written out, rows 2-5 would be as follows:
Row 2: k9, k2 together, k3, turn work (13 stitches total)
Row 3: k12, k2 together, k3, turn work (16 sitches total)
Row 4: k15, k2 together, k3, turn work (19 stitches total)
Row 5: k18, k2 together, k3, turn work (21 stitches total)
Keep on going with the general pattern until you finish! (76 rows… maybe? Not sure if I did the math correctly)
It seems obvious to me now but I had to stare at the picture on the top of pg 2 of the pattern for about 5 minutes before I understood. I hope this helps others and feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

I hate to knit lace but this shawl is so lovely I believe I will change my mind… a must for me is to tweak the pattern to use only knit stitch. If i get there I will post and send you my alterations. BEAUTIFUL work!

I have fallen in love with your Arroyo scarf/shawl and have tried numerous times to download it. Am I doing something wrong? Has it expired as a free pattern. I’d be happy to pay for it.
I JUST WANT IT!!!!!
Thank you.

I have begun your lovely arroyo pattern and am curious….. The chart is repeats of 19 stitches. Over 241 that I cast on, that looks like 12.6 repeats of the pattern across.??? can that be correct?
